Senior Mining Engineer
Location: Vancouver & Tumbler Ridge
Mine planning and design for open pit coal mines, including site infrastructure and reclamation plans. Develops designs which optimize the safety and cost effectiveness of the operation and which provides the flexibility to help ensure production goals are met.
Responsibilities:
Degree in Mining Engineering with a Professional Engineering designation and 6 or more years of progressively responsible mine engineering and/or mine management experience. Experience with computerized mine modeling and design systems (preferably Gemcom) is essential, and experience doing feasibility.
Qualifications:
3- 5 years of related experience.
Mining Engineer
Location: Tumbler Ridge
Develops pit and dump designs and prepares mine plans and schedules in support of development and operations. Provides support to an existing mining operation, maintains plans and provides site liaison with mining contractor.
Responsibilities:
Degree in Mining Engineering and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer. Knowledge in computerized pit optimization and design an asset.
Qualifications:
3- 5 years of related experience.
Maintenance Manager
Location: Tumbler Ridge
Responsibilities:
Plans, budgets for and directs the overall maintenance operations of the company, within the company policies and objectives, and equipment availability commitments. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for equipment selection and replacement, in consultation with the Manager, Process and the Manager, Mining in the mine and plant.
Qualifications:
Significant training and experience in all aspects of open-pit equipment and plant maintenance.
Minimum 5 years General Foreman (or equivalent) experience.
Excellent people management and development skills.
Knowledgeable in computerized maintenance systems.
Capable of developing solutions to three dimensional problems.
Ability to sequence and schedule complex inter-related activities.
Good communications and report writing skills.
Environmental Superintendent
Location: Tumbler Ridge, BC
Support mine staff to address operational environmental issues. Manage environmental monitoring programs and supervise environmental staff and contractors. Oversight and co-ordination of implementation of construction and operations level requirements of the Environmental Management System (EMS). Plan and implement reclamation programs. Support liaison with government regulators on permitting, licensing & compliance issues. Operational liaison with public, stakeholders and First Nations.
B.Sc. in Environmental Science or equivalent. Minimum two to five years environmental management experience at industrial and/or construction, and/or mine sites; preferably experience in an open pit mining setting; including water management, reclamation and field level EMS development and implementation.
Engineer In Training
Location: Vancouver, BC
Long range planning and pit design. Short range pit re-designs. Update site status map and coal seam models. Month end pit reconciliation and stockpile volumes. Others projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Degree in Mining Engineering and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer. Strong skills in Autocad and Gemcom an asset. Experience with open pit an asset. Occasional visits to mine sites will be required.
Environmental Technicians
Location: Chetwynd, BC
Assist with implementation of field environmental programs for water quality, hydrology, groundwater, climate and air quality, waste management, sediment, aquatic resources. Conduct environmental monitoring and sampling, and preparing reports as required by government reporting programs, e.g. NPRI. Environmental data management, analysis and reporting, Environmental site inspections of construction activities. Sediment control and remediation procedures as required. Maintain environmental files.
Qualifications:
Degree in Environmental Science or Diploma in Environmental Technology, Chemical or Biological Sciences technology. 2 - 3 years of related experience. Experience in regulatory liaison and reclamation program implementation an asset. Class 5 Drivers License. Ability to read maps. Ability and confidence to travel radio controlled roads. Must be physically fit and able to work in severe outdoor conditions.
