Responsibilities:
Mine planning and design for open pit coal mines, including site infrastructure and reclamation plans. Develops designs which optimize the safety and cost effectiveness of the operation and which provides the flexibility to help ensure production goals are met.
Qualifications:
Degree in Mining Engineering with a Professional Engineering designation and 6 or more years of progressively responsible mine engineering and/or mine management experience. Experience with computerized mine modeling and design systems (preferably Gemcom) is essential, and experience doing feasibility studies and cost estimates is valuable.
