Undertake mine planning and design for open pit coal mines, including site infrastructure and reclamation plans. Develop designs which optimize the safety and cost effectiveness of the operation and which provide the flexibility to help ensure production goals are met.
Degree in Mining Engineering and with P. Eng. designation and 10 years of progressively responsible mine engineering and/or mine management experience. Experience with computerized mine modeling and design systems (preferably Gemcom) is essential, and experience doing feasibility studies and cost estimates a definite asset.
