WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

 

Walter Energy Western Coal is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Warehouse Supervisor for the Brule Mine operation.

 

Reporting to the Mine Manager, this position will work a five (5) day on / two (2) day off work schedule.  The incumbent will be responsible for performing supervisory functions with regards to receiving, issuing, inventory counts and shipping of items by the company’s warehouse and ensuring that they are carried out in an effective manner.

 

This position will be responsible for designing warehouse layout to optimize warehouse efficiencies and implementing warehouse layout plans, participating in training of warehouse personnel, conducting daily planning meetings with lead hand staff to formulate and assess work assignments, oversee daily inventory count report prepared by Warehouse staff to ensure accuracy, preparing and managing warehouse operating budget, ensuring warehouse employees conform to the environment management system, preparing and implementing the required standing operating procedures for various warehouse activities for the smooth operation of the department, other duties as required.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a University degree (preferred), in inventory and warehouse management or related field, minimum 10 years in warehouse management in an industrial setting; open pit mining preferred, a minimum of 10 years in progressive supervisory and management positions, and comprehension of budget preparation and cost management.  Previous experience and knowledge of ISO 14001 and industry accepted warehouse/inventory management.  Management and people skills, analytical and problem solving skills, decision making skills, negotiation skills, literacy including the ability to read manuals and regulatory requirements, effective verbal and listening communication skills, computer skills including Microsoft Software packages and stress and time management skills.
